Wisdom Teeth

We call the third molars “wisdom teeth” because they come in at an older age between 16 and 21 years
old. Often, a person’s jaw lacks space for the teeth to erupt and the wisdom teeth become partially or completely blocked causing problems such as:

• Infections, cysts (with or without symptoms)
• Inflammation of the gums
• Tooth and muscle pains
• Cavities
• Forming of gingival (gum) pockets

The Solution:
The dentist will recommend extracting the teeth since they are pushing against other teeth or due to lack of space in the mouth. A single appointment is needed to complete this procedure and medication will be used to increase your comfort and reduce post-operative side effects such as infection or swelling.
